New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

Sometimes, it is only in the midst of an earthquake, as the ground beneath you shakes and all sense of certainty suddenly dissipates, that what matters in life becomes very clear. And whilst such events can often be shocking and disturbing in their unexpectedness, it is ultimately only your response to them, that truly determines their value and impact.

Asking, are you able to see everything as an opportunity for growth, even, if not especially, the most challenging of experiences.

If uncertain of your answer, then the New Moon/Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius, occurring on February 17th 2026 (12:01pm GMT), may just serve to clarify your response.

As the first eclipse of the season on the Leo-Aquarius axis, this lunation will hold no punches, as the Moon positions itself so as to temporarily block out the rays of the Sun, leaving nothing more than a burning ring of fire visible. A mere glimmer of light to guide the way, as you’re pulled deep down, into the murky depths of your own subconscious.

Asking, what needs illumination. What needs letting go. And what’s really important.

Conjunct Mars in Aquarius and square to the Moon’s ruler, Uranus (in Taurus), you are being called to awaken, however, if you have long been attached to denial and delusion, ignoring the truth of what is, in favour of the fantasy of how you’d prefer it, then this shift may feel somewhat abrupt and destabilising. With life forcing you to confront reality and take action accordingly.

In the process, with Mercury (slowly preparing to go retrograde on February 26th), the North Node, and Venus, all conjunct nearby in Pisces, you may be required to release something - mental, emotional, spiritual, or potentially physical - in order to gain something far more valuable - such as clear vision!

As such, this lunation may serve as something of a spiritual initiation, asking that you learn to relinquish your perceived sense control, in favour of trusting in a power far greater than yourself. In the belief that everything that is happening to you, is in fact happening for you. Even if you can’t quite see it at the time.

Thus, in the face of instability and disruption, can you learn to lean in and let it take you where you’re meant to be heading. Letting things unfold in their own time and in their own way.

With Saturn having transitioned once again into Aries - for the final time - on February 14th, conjoining Neptune, both at a critical 0° of the sign, it’s the dawn of a new era, one that will require you to be bold and courageous. That will call upon you to embody your independence and autonomy in order to start truly LIVING and not just merely existing.

Hence, in aspect to Uranus and Pluto (in Aquarius), the Saturn-Neptune conjunction is offering you the opportunity during this eclipse to clear away the debris, so as to begin the process of laying the first steps along the gently unwinding path that lays ahead of you.

Asking, are you prepared to acknowledge that the rubble exists and in doing so, are you then willing to do the work to clear it.

If, along the way, things start to feel both familiar and perhaps challenging, you may do well to reflect on past occurrences, especially those between February 2017 and January 2019, when the Eclipses were last on this axis. What did you experience. What did you learn. And what still needs work.

With the Total Lunar Eclipse on March 3rd taking place in the sign of Virgo, expect the next few weeks to continue on similar themes, with the only way out ultimately being through.
