New Moon in Leo + Mercury Retrograde
On July 18th 2025, Mercury stationed retrograde at 15º Leo, asking that you utilise the next few weeks to refuel, reorient, realign, reconnect, reflect, and ultimately, return to Self.
As it transitions back over the early degrees of the sign, until it reaches 4º on August 11th, can you consider not how life should look, but how you’d like it to feel.
Are there aspects of it that currently have you contorted, dimmed, or suppressed? And if so, what narratives, perspectives, or ideas need to be challenged, in order for you to become the most authentic and liberated expression of who you truly are.
In the acknowledgment that your unique self-expression is sacred and needs to be honoured.
Merely days into Mercury’s retrograde journey comes the New Moon at 2º Leo, occurring on July 24th (8:11pm BST), imbued with the kind of tension that requires a fair amount of courage to withstand.
Yet that is of course what Leo’s all about.
In opposition to Pluto (retrograde in Aquarius) and square to Chiron in Aries, expect emotions to stir as pressure mounts, power struggles become more evident, conflict is exacerbated, and your semblance of control dissipates altogether.
Whilst this may feel confronting and potentially disempowering, can you see it as an opportunity to consider the ways in which you assert yourself and uphold boundaries - or fail consistently to do so.
Are there areas of your life whereby you’re holding on too tight, out of a need to control. And if so, is it possible for you to release your grip, allowing life to flow in its own natural direction, rather than forcing it towards your own perceived ideal.
In doing so, are you able to return to a more soul-centred place, one that exists beneath the roles, masks, patterns, and expectations that have been placed upon you, either by yourself or others.
Can you remember who you truly are and trust that Self, so as to move through life authentically and confidently, without feeling the need to prove anything to anyone.
Over the next six months, you may find yourself being called repeatedly to let go, over and over again, to anything that isn’t aligned with the truth of who you are and how you wish your life to feel. Asking that you keep only that which is real and discard anything disingenuous.
Anything that does not illuminate your heart or serve your soul.
Know that by the Full Moon in Leo on February 1st 2026, life may either be gloriously vibrant or achingly dull, depending entirely on the choices you make now. So, choose wisely.
